About me...

People often ask why I became a midwife. The answer is both simple and deeply personal. The path to achieving the CPM has led me to unexpected places that have all fed into my passion for this work.

Long before I attended births, I was drawn to caring for people through life's important transitions. My background as a Montessori teacher taught me that every person learns differently and deserves to be met with patience, curiosity, and respect. Those lessons continue to shape the way I practice midwifery today.

With the support of my husband and the midwives who would one day accept me as their student, I birthed my own two children safely at home. Our extended family has held me and helped me find my way to become first a doula, and then a Certified Professional Midwife. The training to be a CPM involves much book learning, but equally important hands-on skills learned through apprenticeship. It is a necessarily long process but my family has never wavered, allowing me to step fully into this calling.

I believe deeply in evidence-based care, informed consent, and the importance of preserving normal birth. I believe that pregnancy and birth are normal life events that deserve careful observation, skilled support, and thoughtful intervention only when and to the extent that it is truly needed. I also believe that excellent midwifery means being prepared for the unexpected. Home birth is appropriate for carefully selected low-risk pregnancies, and my role is to support normal birth while remaining vigilant for any change that requires additional care or collaboration.

One of the greatest privileges of this work is being invited into a family's home at one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. I see myself as the sidekick to your main charecter story. It is a responsibility I never take lightly.
